The Ten Commandments for travelers
By Bridges for Peace
- Thou shalt not expect to find things precisely as they are at home - for thou hast left home to find different things.
- Thou shalt not take things too seriously - for a carefree mind is the basis for a good vacation.
- Thou shalt not let other tour members get on thy nerves - for thou art paying thy money to enjoy thyself.
- Thou shalt not worry - he that worrieth hath little joy.
- Thou shalt not judge all the people of a country by one person with whom thou hast a problem.
- Blessed are those who can wait and smile - for they shall surely enjoy themselves.
- Thou shalt do somewhat as the natives do - but remember to use American friendliness.
- Thou shalt carry thy passport at all times - a man without a passport is a man without a country.
- Thou art welcome where thou shalt treat thy host with respect.
- Blessed is the man who seeks to speak a few words in the local language.
