FEAST OF TABERNACLES 2010

Through the last four years we have followed a prophetic path during our Feast of Tabernacle celebrations.

In 2007 we had a ‘crossing  over.’ It was the 40th anniversary of Jerusalem's liberation, and we placed our feet all over the land to mark the new season. There was a tangible manifestation of this crossing over as our exploits were given daily media coverage.

After crossing at Gilgal, Israel had to stop for nationwide circumcision. In 2008, we stood before the Captain of the Lord of Hosts for a spiritual Gilgal, a deeper circumcision of  our flesh as we sought His face in Jerusalem during extended times of worship and prayer.

And for 2009 we heard Him saying to us: "Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you; govern the mountains of Esau, the Kingdom is Mine.”

So we did. You can see the report of that amazing week right here.

It is a blessing to stand with Israel as she finally draws near to her destiny and fullness.

At the 2010 Feast of Tabernacles we would want to gather as His army, bearing banners, in praise and worship even at thew gates and borders of Israel.

Praise - as we read in Psalm 149:5-9 - is one of God's weapons of warfare.

When it came to the battle for Jericho, what brought the walls crashing to the ground were the final blowing of the trumpets and the shouts of praise by the people of Israel (Joshua 6:16). Also, when Paul and Silas were in a Macedonian prison, the gates were opened and their chains fell off WHILE THEY WERE PRAISING THE LORD (Acts 16:25)

In 2 Chronicles 20, we read that God ordered the Levites to go before the army of israel to praise the Lord, saying: "The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever." It was because of this that God caused Israel to have a tremendous victory over their enemies.

God Himself has set Israel's borders, and no wonder that one of the continual contests for His land has to do with the borders assigned for it. The borders of a nation also include the gates to the nation.

At Sukkot (Tabernacles) 2010, we plan to align ourselves with His promises by going to the borders of this country, there to make our stand with Israel's people and soldiers in a way that will encourage and strengthen them.

The nations may be raging against Israel, but we will come to comfort this nation with out songs, prayers and love. "Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever." (2 Chronicles 20:21). These words - the most often repeated words of praise in the Psalms - were the very ones that defeated the onslaught of the enemies of God and Israel.

Program Highlights for 2010

The 2010 Feast of Tabernacles will include:

  • Baptismal service in the Jordan.

  • A visit to Israel's border with Lebanon. Once called "The Good Fence," this is today one of Israel's hottest frontiers; the Iranian-backed, solidly entrenched Hizb'allah terrorist are just meters away from where we will stand. Their arsenal is bristling with tens of thousands of missiles aimed at Israel's population centers and lands. Our weapon against them - the high praises of the Lord God of Israel in our mouths, the proclamation of His unchanging Word.

  • We will climb the Golan Heights, that tower over the Galilee Panhandle where Jewish communities lived for years under Syrian guns; and where they have enjoyed decades of peace and security with the heights in Israel's hands. Intense pressure is on Israel's government to surrender this high ground to the Syrians, who keep SCUD missiles tipped with VX nerve gas poised to unleash against Israel's cities - cities which the Syrian foreign minister threatened yet again in February of this year. We will stand on the Golan, fixing our gaze on the Syrian frontline, send our praises to the heavens and aim God's Word at the regime in Damascus.

  • Jordan and Israel have a peace agreement. But it is an agreement between the Jordanian rulers and the Israeli people, not between the Jordanian people and Israel. Jordanians harbor a seething hatred for the Jewish state; and even their king and government keep threatening to revisit the peace agreement unless Israel complies with their wishes. We will stand on the banks of the Jordan River - a stone's throw from the Jordanian border guards, at the site marking the crossing of the Israelites under Joshua - and John's baptism of Jesus. And we will stay on message - magnifying the name of the Lord, and reminding the Almighty of His promises to restore this land to His people and keep them in it.

  • It's a long haul from Jerusalem, down the Arava past the Dead Sea and Masada down to the Gulf of Eilat. Standing on the shores of the Red Sea we will be able to see Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia - between them holding tens of millions of citizens who pray to their god for the destruction of Israel, while their leaders foment war against the Jewish homeland. We will wave our banners high, to the east and the south and the west, raising our voices in worship and praise of our and Israel's God - the Lord.

  • Gathering in Jerusalem DC (David's Capital) for the Jerusalem March

  • Special Communion Service at the Garden Tomb, and visits to sacred places in Jerusalem with Israeli Tour Guides

  • We will place our feet on Mount Moriah - site of the Throne Room of the King of Kings - in preparation for His return in glory and power.

  • Festive evening meetings with worship and dance.

  • In Tiberias - on our return from the Lebanon border - we will celebrate ICZC Director Jan Willem van der Hoeven's 70th Birthday; for invited guests from Israel and abroad.

The program remains flexible and subject to change as the Lord leads us
